You do not need PHP programming knowledge at all to be able to run your store. When you install X-Cart shopping software you only need to implement your settings, change the skin elements, add your products and your store will be ready to do business. X-Cart shopping software has built-in development environment which allows you to easily access and modify the templates in your store. X-Cart store engine is extremely flexible and configurable, so you can change the look of your site completely.

2. Web-based installation wizard

You can install X-Cart shopping software in several minutes using X-Cart Installation Wizard! The installation script automatically tries to detect the server parameters necessary for X-Cart installation. Generally, all you have to do is to provide your database name, username and password and follow the Wizards step-by-step installation instructions. If any problems occur, the installation script identifies them and gives you suggestions on how to solve them. In most cases you only have to enter data that the installation wizard is not able to detect. Anyway, if something goes wrong you can always contact our technical support team and our experienced professionals will help you.

Each full price license for X-Cart software comes with a limited amount of free technical support. The amount of technical support that you can get for free is expressed in the amount of support points that you get with your license. Support points are units that we use to measure the amount of work done by our support engineers to resolve a certain issue. Resolving different types of issues costs different amounts of support points. When our engineers solve a problem for you, an amount of support points corresponding to the type of issue resolved is taken away from your account. The remaining support points are stored on your account for future use. They do not expire through time. The amount of support points provided with an X-Cart license approximately corresponds to the amount of technical assistance needed by an average X-Cart client to successfully install and launch an X-Cart-based store. After the initial amount of support points that you get with your license is used up, you can purchase additional amounts of support points and, thus, continue using our technical support as a paid service. Support is provided mainly through our web-based system called "HelpDesk".

2. Free access to all future releases

Our Help Desk is the promptest and easiest way of communication and rendering technical assistance. You can sign in to your HelpDesk account whenever it is convenient to you, download the software, purchase services and products, and consult with us on administrative matters (license transfers, sales questions, and quote requests)

3. Built-in self-upgrade engine

X-Cart has a built-in upgrade engine that helps you to keep the code up to date and may automate the process of your store upgrade to new bug-fixing X-Cart releases.

Please note that success of an automatic upgrade depends on how much your X-Cart was customized.

4. Preconfigured taxing system: GST/PST (for Canada), VAT (for Europe)

X-Cart Installation Wizard allows you to apply some pre-configured settings to your store. The taxing system (GST/PST or VAT), default country, state, city, primary and alternative currency symbols and other configuration settings will be automatically applied according to the chosen configuration.
